Treat season is upon us and lovehoney are back with a new advent calendar to inspire some excitement this December.

Last year’s calendars were packed full of sexy surprises, and this year’s looks even more desirable. At first glance I can spot some subtle improvements – there are some really fun details and the deep purple with rose gold colour theme is lush. The twelve numbered, individual compartments are easy to slide out and open in anticipation. A fun-filled surprise with intriguing new things to try, the mystery of what will be in each box is enough to feel the thrill before even opening!

At first glance we’re very impressed with the quality of all the items – the silicone is soft and smooth and it all feels exceptionally well made. There are a good variety of simple but deluxe items too, I think this particular collection aims towards people who have dabbled in some sex toys before, athough we can’t really look at it from a beginners point of view. It’s a middle ground to us which is a safe bet for a wider market. 

Whatever level of experience, it’s a great reason to try out a few things you might never have thought of trying. Would you buy some nipple clamps to try, or mint pleasure balm? No? Well now you can!

Speaking of nipple clamps, the design of these are beautiful, as is the butt plug, it feels more like costume jewellery than sex toys. The cleaning wipes and ‘toy lube‘ could be deemed as fillers, but are a great practical balance. The only thing I’d like to have seen is some slightly more exciting lube in there!

The mini bullet vibrator and its accessories are good quality, the compact vibrations give an impressive buzz and has the standard 3 speeds and 7 patterns. The mini wand is very similar, I’m not a huge fan myself but it could be useful while travelling. The kegal balls are good quality, it’s not something I’d personally use but again they’re catering to a lot of different wants so it’s a nice product to have in there. 

In exploring the the main toy ‘indulge’ the stimulators are incredible! The design shape looks like so many others but felt surprisingly different- hit exactly the right spots for me. The settings allow for a good build up too – very enjoyable together or alone.

Every item is adaptable for alone time or fun with a partner. A perfect early Christmas present as a gift for a partner or to yourself!

This is a product that is well presented and considering the contents, is a great price (huge saving of £133.87). There could be some improvements still, don’t get me wrong, but the calendar more than makes up for it with top quality items. This is a very alluring advent calendar to lighten up the dreary winter months, a great excuse to try some things you haven’t already, or to add to your collection. 

Rating: 9/10. Exciting, improved packaging and such good value for money!
