The Review

LELO never disappoints when it comes to quality. The SONA and SONA Cruise are proudly displayed in a strong, smart box that feels very no-fuss. The SONA comes with satin storage bag, personal moisturiser, warranty registration card and product guide.

I received the SONA Cruise in Pink and the SONA in Cerise. My favourite is the Cerise but the Pink is still really attractive, especially against the metallic backing. I really love these designs. The curve is just right and fits very well with the female body, exactly the right angle for holding. Very ergonomically well thought-out. The SONA is so silky smooth, I had to remind myself that it is made of silicone and plastic (all body-safe and medical-grade). 

The charge point is visible, which I really don’t mind at all. The classic Insignia buttons are very easy to use, as long as you get used to which way round the + and – are set when you’re using it, which doesn’t take too long! The little cupped end, designed for the sonic waves, is very attractive, and is about the right size for the tip of my little finger.

The quality is incredible, the design is spot on and easy to use, but I’m really intrigued by the sonic waves AND the signature Cruise Control Technology.

The sonic waves are very interesting!! It feels as though air is being pushed out of the spout, but it’s actually the force of the vibrations from the hole! In use, it really has an impact, and actually it could work for me in minutes! As an everyday toy I don’t always want that, and it does give a good build up, but all of the times I’ve used it to date have been a bit too quick.

The toy is useful on other areas of the body too, and I’ve since found a decent balance of using the lower settings on the clitoris and higher on the nipples. It really reminds me of the Smart Wand in comparison with intensity. So if you find you need more in the way of  clitoral stimulation than any other toy you’ve tried, I’d definitely give this a go.

The Cruise Control is a great new development, where the intensity of the vibrations doesn’t die down when pressed against the skin. In fact, it’s so noticeable to me that I felt like it increased in intensity! I didn’t think I’d feel the benefits of this tech at all, but as usual, it seems LELO have strived to improve on previous powerful products and the SONA Cruise is engineered brilliantly.

So the SONA Cruise has the added extra of keeping it’s intensity when pressed against the skin in pleasure, but the SONA in comparison is much quieter. So it really does depend on your needs when it comes to choosing which to go for.

LELO have made a really interesting choice in their direction with a sonic wave toy. The way it is made is definitely the usual LELO style of absolute perfection. I’m not sure that this particular toy is for me, for the brilliant reason that it’s just too powerful! I’ve found a way of using it that suits me, but I still have my LELO favourites to hand!
